Lindsay House Gets Gas Support

23 March 2009

The Energy for Children Charitable Trust, set up three years ago by the local natural gas industry, has announced that it has provided Lindsay House Children’s Home in Dunmurry with funding to buy some much-needed new facilities for disadvantaged children

Lindsay House gives much needed care to children with learning disabilities from all ages and backgrounds.

The Group have recently taken special delivery of various paints, arts and crafts provided by the gas charity. These materials will now play a key role in helping the children at the Centre express themselves and enjoy the therapeutic nature of making art. Jim Braiden, who was responsible for proposing Lindsay House for the award, said:

"This is such great news and will enable us to design and implement a superb new
art room with all the essential equipment for children who
benefit immensely from this kind of environment".

Founded and administered by Phoenix Natural Gas, the Energy for Children Charitable Trust recently set itself a target of raising £250,000 for local disadvantaged children by the end of 2009.
